Enrique’s brothers were involved in gangs. Choosing another option, Enrique started attending a Friday night program at Grapevine, an OC United organization within his neighborhood. Among other things, he helped create cards to sell to the community in order to fund Christmas presents for kids in domestic violence shelters. Eventually, Enrique’s brothers started attending Grapevine Friday nights with him. Now, years later, they are all out of gangs, holding down stable jobs, and working with Grapevine to continue giving back to their community.
