Volunteers of the Month

Mark and Sheila Sturgis have been faithful volunteers serving at the El Dorado Motel in Anaheim for 8 years almost every Friday evening. They spent their time loving the families that lived at the motel, a ministry launched by the church in 2011.

For Mark, that looked like playing games with the kids; water balloon toss in the summer, basketball, jump rope, hot wheels race nights, football and corn hole bean bag toss.

For Sheila it involved serving pizza and root beer floats, playing Mexican Dominos and lots of conversations around the table with the ladies.

This last September, they transitioned their ministry to Pritchard Street, a neighborhood in Valencia Park area right next to the train tracks and Fullerton Airport. The evening looks pretty much like the work at the El Dorado only now it is a different set of kids and families. They demonstrate God’s love so beautifully and humbly. We are grateful for your loving service to our community in the name of Jesus. Here is to another 8 years!!
